Best Car Insurance Companies 2017

Best Car Insurance Companies 2017 - The best auto insurance companies are not only competitively priced; they also offer versatile coverage options, excellent customer service, solid financial reporting, and an excellent shopping experience. I studied all these factors and found that only four of the nation's largest insurers have impressed me and I would recommend to family and friends. Use the tools below to find the best coverage for your region:
The price is the most important factor for many auto insurance shoppers. However, at the time of filing a claim, additional charges may be required based solely on interest rate selection policies. Statistically, this will happen at least once every 18 years for every driver. It pays to get the proper coverage, whether it is the cheapest package or not.

Best Overall: Amica
Best Customer Service: National Farm
Best policy choice: Hartford
Most suitable for military: USAA

How do I choose the best car insurance company

First of all, I have 15 car insurance providers in-depth analysis. I collected data on 86 different functions (such as a 24/7 claims center or a discount on electric vehicles), classifying them into 12 categories, and rating each company with a score of 100. Here are the categories I use, as well as the weight given in the test.

Category Test Weight

  • Policy Coverage 13%
  • Vehicle coverage 13%
  • Driver discount 11%
  • Policy Management 10%
  • Getting Started 9%
  • Move 6%
  • Payment Method 10%
  • Claim Management 8%
  • Support 6%
  • Additional benefits 6%
  • Vehicle Discount 5%
  • Learning materials 3%

Next, I included studies from automotive experts, insurance drivers, and third-party studies into my assessment and calculated the final score. I divided this study into three different categories, outlined below.

Claim and price satisfaction: I look at J.D.Power's 2014 Automotive Insurance Satisfaction Report, Insure.com's 2014 Best Car Insurance Company, and Consumer Report's 2014 Auto Insurance Rating to gain a complete picture of the nation's industry. I have also investigated 100 insurance drivers who filed their claims in the last 12 months.
Shopping convenience: I applied for more than 15 car insurance companies offer to assess the shopping experience. I also considered J.D.Power's 2014 auto insurance purchase experience rating, which asked customers about their personal interviews with local agents, call center representatives and websites.
FINANCIAL STRENGTH LEVEL: I use A.M. best to measure financial stability. Any company of "B" or below is considered to be fragile, so I have chosen "A-" or above.

Amica: Best overall car insurance company

Amica, the strongest overall in my research, ranks second in JDPower's Customer Satisfaction Report for 2015, which means that among the 11,469 respondents surveyed, it is the second highest among more than 20 different companies Satisfaction rating. It received the highest ratings on consumer ratings among auto insurance providers. Consumer reports even pointed out that the vast majority of customers in the claim process report "relatively small" problem.

advantage

High J.D. Power Satisfaction Rating: Amica scored the perfect score for four of the seven categories in J.D. Power's 2015 Auto Insurance Study.
High financial stability rating: Amica has an "excellent" financial stability rating from A.M. Best of all, this is the highest rating.
No Repair Facility Restrictions: Unlike most other insurance companies, Amica has no restrictions on the body shop you are using for repairs.
"Platinum Choice" Coverage: Amica offers additional coverage, called Platinum Choice, which costs more, but includes identity fraud monitoring, full glass coverage, reputable leasing coverage, and good driving rewards.
Best Team: Amica offers the most drivers and vehicles to cover all of my best suggestions. The list includes GAP insurance and internal vehicle coverage, which are not provided by State Farm, The Hartford, or USAA.
Shortcomings

The bidding process is less desirable: whether you start online or on the phone, you end up getting an official quote on the phone, which can take an extra 20 to 30 minutes.
Fewer drivers discounts: Amica lacks several major driver discounts, including prepaid, low mileage and military discounts. Therefore, in my driver discount evaluation, it only got 100 points.
Few online resources: There are some common questions on the site, but Amica lacks in-depth online material to help customers get the most out of their purchases without having to talk to someone. In addition, some policy changes require direct assistance from the Amica agent, which can be time-consuming.
